Product Precautions

Safety Tips for Optimal Use & Care

To help you get the most from your products, we’ve gathered some essential skincare safety product precautions and usage tips. While our products are created with carefully selected botanical ingredients, every person’s skin is different. Always check ingredient lists and usage details to ensure a good fit for your skin needs and personal preferences.

Skincare Safety Starts with Reading Labels

Before applying any product, take a moment to review the label. Each formulation is unique, and ingredient sensitivities can vary between individuals. If the printed label is difficult to read due to size or wear, you can find full details on the product page at eckco.co.nz.

Essential Oils and Pregnancy

Some Eckco products contain essential oils, which may not be suitable for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you’re expecting or nursing, we suggest avoiding essential oil products unless your healthcare provider confirms they are appropriate for your situation. Even natural ingredients can be potent and affect everyone differently.

Nut Oils and Sensitivities

Many plant-based skincare products include ingredients derived from nuts or seeds such as almond, coconut, shea, or sesame. If you have known allergies or sensitivities, please review each product’s ingredients carefully. Ingredient transparency is important to us, and we provide full lists both on product labels and online for easy access.

Patch Testing Before Use

We recommend patch testing for all new skincare products, especially for those with sensitive skin.

Understanding Shelf Life and Expiry

Most unopened skincare products remain stable for extended periods when stored correctly. After opening, look for the open jar symbol on the label, which shows how many months the product is best used within (e.g. “6M” means six months). If the label is hard to read, please visit the product’s page on eckco.co.nz for batch-related details and after-opening guidelines.
